I always prefer Apple Pages, but this video is for people who need/want to use MS Office, but don't want a paid subscription for it. FYI That message you saw is just saying that if you choose to use their "contacts, passwords, favorites, browsing history, and photos and files" services that those things will be available to your wherever you log in to use MS services. It doesn't mean that those things are somehow publicly accessible.

Wish I could help! I don't know enough about Pages running on Windows to be of any assistance in this situation. I guess I'd recommend verifying that you are signed in to Apple iCloud on that computer so your files are syncing, but there's no way for me to know if that's the actual problem.

I follow all of the major  Channels but they tend to get stale and repetitive, it’s nice to have a different, fresh perspective than all of the big channels from someone that knows Apple. Yes, that's the basic way to do it on Windows, similar to using Shift-Command-3 on the Mac. I can't remember if Windows has the additional options I mention here though (unless you open up the Windows screen grab app--can't remember the name of it).

@@EverydayApple1984 I wonder why it can’t be that simple on a Mac? I think Apple makes some common functions harder than it has to be. It’s not an insurmountable problem but why hit 3 keys when you can hit one that says right on the key “ print screen?”

I think the difference in this case is fairly minuscule, in that you are simply holding down two modifier buttons on the Mac. I'd guess these decisions were made in the early days, with some regard to how often a user would be using that functionality. That probably explains why you don't see a "Print Screen" dedicated button on Mac keyboard.

@@EverydayApple1984 Shift+cmd+4 is also on windows, the hotkeys for that feature is win+shift+s and you can isolate a window of your choosing, have a rectangular select and a freeform select actually (with the 4th option being the whole screen instead of print-screen). Interestingly enough, on Windows 10, these don't actually save your screenshot, but put them into your clipboard, from which you can paste the pic anywhere using ctrl+v or better yet, win+v (which is your entire clipboard including recent things you copied or cut) To record your screen you can use win+alt+r, but that is using the xbox game bar, so it only works if you have not disabled it (enabled by default). But you can set parameters there like where to save, what audio to include and what windows and/or apps Edit: Obviously you can save them from your clipboard directly to a drive

I hear ya. It all depends on your use case and situation, really. I use Apple Pages 95% of the time and for my situation that works out great.

Using office.com for free might be a good option for you until office 2024 comes out! Especially for occasional use.

Microsoft wants to get rid of one-time fee and force everyone on a subscription, so don't hold your breath.

You should be able to just use the volume controls on your Mac if the volume of the conversation is too high.

Perhaps it’s another family member also on your plan? If that doesn’t apply to you, then I would reach out to Apple support through their website about the issue and provide them the details. I’ve had multiple times where they have been great to resolve app issues regarding subscriptions.

Good question! A couple of guesses come to mind… either they don’t have “Enable messages in iCloud” checkbox checked in Messages preferences, or perhaps they’re using an older Mac. I’m unsure of all the scenarios that would cause the share button to be grayed out.

Check to be sure you have iCloud for Photos turned on, on both devices in the settings.

Sounds like you are may have dropped the image into the header or the footer, which is a small section at the top or bottom of the page that repeats the content on each page of your document. Hope you were able to figure it out!

Yeah, it’s one of those personal preference things and if you love the home button, you will have a slight learning curve.

I use the four finger swipe for that to get back to a previous app I was using. You can also just swipe one finger horizontally along the bottom of the screen, from left to right to go back to a previous app (you should see a little white bar that you would put your finger on to swipe like that).

Oh I meant actually on a keyboard if connected to iPad then I came to know those are same buttons as alt tab as in cmd+tab. Thanks though your video was helpful.😊

No, I don’t believe so. You may want to verify that with a quick Google search.

If you are just typing letters, Pages would be great. It’s quite simple. It does things like newsletters and such, but opening up a basic word processing document and pages will give you the same experience as word perfect.

Part II (sorry)... I just tried to deactivate the account and it's telling me that my password has changed. What!?! 😣 If you drop in.. do I need to create a new password to get out? I have "Hotel California" 🎵 running thru my head.. _You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave!_

This is a very interesting case and it makes me want to look into how Twitter handles this. I’ll dig around and see what I can find out! In the meantime if you learn anything new go ahead and post it here!

Photo Stream is gone now, but if you decide to use iCloud Photos on your phone, you can go into the Photos app on AppleTV to view iCloud Photos there. The first 5 GB of storage are free, but you can upgrade to 50 GB for .99¢ per month if you have a lot of photos. There's no cheaper cloud storage out there that I know of.
